The Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons of California is the only professional organization representing the interests of osteopathic physicians in California.

OPSC assists physicians in their practices by keeping them informed of current laws, regulations and rules which affect the daily practice of medicine. OPSC works to protect you, your practice and your patients, when legislators and state agencies contemplate health care policy as legislation, which may be detrimental to medicine. Some of the things we do on your behalf are:

Provide legislative representation and testify on key issues at the State Capitol.

Provide representation at state agency and private sector health policy meetings.

Recommend osteopathic physicians to represent the profession on all major state committees/task forces discussing health care issues.

Maintain contact with Califoria Congressmen and Senators on issues at the federal level and.works closely with the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) on issues pertinent to the profession.

Provide members with information on legislation, rules and regulations, and policies, which directly affect your practice and patients.

Produce quality continuing medical education programs.

Provide a legal referral service, collection services and patient referrals.

Address other issues and are involved in activities on a daily basis, too numerous to list.

Maintain the OPSC website.

Unless you are a part of organized medicine, no one will be considering your best interests when health care policies are made.
