|Community How To|
The Community area is where you will interact with other OPSC members. Within the Community, you will be able to message other members, join groups, make connections and create or subscribe to blogs and forums. To access the Community, log in and select Manage Profile.
MessagingThe OPSC website has its own online messaging system. You can send and receive messages to/from other OPSC members and Groups you are a member of; you can edit your Messaging settings in Preferences. You can also access Messages from the quick links on the right side of the page.
GroupsThere are several OPSC Groups that you may be a member of; if you are a member of an OPSC Regional Affiliate, an OPSC Committee or the Board of Directors, you're a member of a Group. You will have access to the Group Member Directory, files, photos, calendars, Group Forum, Blogs and other features within each Group. You can edit your Group settings in Preferences. You can also access your Groups from the quick links on the right side of the page.
ConnectionsConnections are similar to LinkedIn where you can create a circle of OPSC members that you would like to share, email and network with. You can edit your Connections settings in Preferences. You can also access your Connections from the quick links on the right side of the page.
Forum SettingsOPSC Forums are a communication tool where you can ask industry related questions and share information. Forum discussions are archived and therefore a great resource to check when seeking information. OPSC has several Forums on different industry topics and Forums are also available within Groups that you may be a member of. You need to subscribe to a Forum and then set up your Preferences. You can also access your Forums in the quick links on the right side of the page.
Blog SubscriptionsIf you are a member of a Group, you may be interested in participating in a Group Blog. You can manage your Blog preferences in this section, but you first must subscribe to the Blog within the Group.
OPSC's website offers you the ability to track your Continuing Education credits in your member profile. After you attend an OPSC hosted event, your credits are automatically entered for you into the Professional Development module located in your profile. You also have the ability to enter non-OPSC Continuing Education credits into this module.
