As a member you receive assistance with maintaining your right to practice.  You are kept informed of current laws, regulations and rules which affect the daily practice of medicine. Here are a few benefits that you receive from your membership:
  • Legislative representation and testimony on key issues at the State Capitol. 
  • Representation at state agency and private sector health policy meetings. 
  • Information on legislation, rules and regulations, and policies, which directly affect your practice and patients. 
  • Quality continuing medical education programs. 
  • A legal referral service, collection services and patient referrals. 
You also receive the following benefits from your membership by tasks that OPSC undertakes on your behalf in the background:
  • Recommend osteopathic physicians to represent the profession on all major state committees/task forces discussing health care issues. 
  • Maintain contact with California Congressmen and Senators on issues at the federal level and works closely with the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) on issues pertinent to the profession. 
  • Address other issues and are involved in activities on a daily basis, too numerous to list. 
  • Maintain the OPSC website.
